| Hotel Description: | New York City is a center for business, finance, fashion, medicine, entertainment, media and culture, with an extraordinary collection of museums, galleries and performance spaces. It is also home to the headquarters of the United Nations and to some of the world's most famous skyscrapers. Safety: Our guest house is located in a residential area. One block is the police station and the fire station. Our neighbourhood is very safe. In our area there are a lot of ethnic (Spanish, Italian, American etc.) restaurants, there is one that I can recommend that is great on the corner. We are 2 blocks from central park, and 4 blocks from the Museum mile. Also, the subway is one block away that takes you to Central Manhattan in approx. 5 minutes.There are only two owners who are also the innkeepers of this guesthouse. So we take pride in our building and we take care of our guests. We offer self served breakfast in our breakfast rooms. Special food requests can be made prior to arrivals. We are located on 101 Street. Which is not far from Central Manhattan which is on 59th street. There is also great shopping on 86th street (within walking distance). Here you can find Gap, Banana Republic, Best Buy etc. On 59th you have the Major malls and brand name stores. Many guest have walked through our doors with delight and a want to return. | Getting There: | There are several ways to reach our location: Fastest Way: Arriving from John F. Kennedy Airport (jfk), La Guardia Airport (lga) or Newark Airport (nwk). Take a cab and tell the driver that you want to go to 1598 Lexington Avenue in Manhattan, located between 101 street & 102 street. JFK: Flat fee of $45.00 LGA: Cost between $16.00 - $26.00 for 20 to 30 minutes of car ride. NWK: $10.00 initial charge, there after meter charge. * Fares do not include tolls and tips. * Travel time from the airport to our location vary between 20 minutes - 45 minutes. Subway: We are located on the number 6 subway line. Just get to that subway line and take it to 103rd street in manhattan. Please note that this is not recommended fortravelers with heavy and a lot of luggage. |
